Man charged following burglaries

A 23-year-old man has been charged following two aggravated burglaries in Narre Warren and Berwick.

Police allege a car was stolen during a burglary that occurred on Donatello Crescent in Narre Warren on Monday 7 October in the early hours of the morning.

It is also alleged the same offender stole a car, BMX and the victim’s handbag during an aggravated burglary on Kerferd Street in Berwick on Wednesday 9 October.

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged the Berwick man with 13 charges, including two counts of theft of motor vehicle, two counts of aggravated burglary – person present, possess cannabis and other related offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 10 October.

This arrest is part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs). Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
