Casey has recorded 17 new cases of Covid-19 in the 48 hours to Friday 7 August, according to the state’s latest health data.
Coronavirus infections in Casey now stand at 343 active cases.
Victoria has recorded 450 new cases of coronavirus in the 24 hours to Friday 7 August, with the total number of cases now at 13,867.
In neighbouring local government areas, Greater Dandenong has 202 active cases while Cardinia has 66.
The state’s total has risen to 7637 active cases, including 911 active cases of infected health care workers.
There have been 11 new deaths from Covid-19 reported. They include a woman in her 50s, two men in their 70s, three men and three women in their 80s and two women in their 90s.
Seven of the 11 new deaths are linked to known outbreaks in aged care facilities. To date, 181 people have died from coronavirus in Victoria.
There are 607 hospital patients with Covid-19, with 41 in intensive care.
Meanwhile, Victoria Police issued 196 fines to individuals for breaching the Chief Health Officer directions, including 51 for failing to wear a face covering, 11 at vehicle checkpoints, and 43 for curfew breaches.
Other examples of breaches from the last 24 hours of breaches include:
• A man breaching curfew at 3.40am in Maroondah telling police he was out to feed his uncle’s horses.
• A man buying cigarettes in an adjacent suburb at 9.30pm. A knife was also located in the car.
• A man and woman who drove from Fawkner to Dallas at 9.30pm to get a pizza as the pizza shop wouldn’t deliver.
• A man detected speeding in Whittlesea at 10pm. He was 14km from his home address and did not have a permitted reason to travel during curfew.
