Casey Highway Patrol officers impounded a motorbike and charged a man following a foot chase in Clyde earlier this month.
Police observed the S1000RR BMW motorbike allegedly travelling at a fast rate of speed on Clyde-Five Ways Road at about 12.30pm on Friday 8 March.
The motorbike was intercepted and immobilised before the rider allegedly attempted to flee the scene on foot.
Officers engaged in a short foot pursuit before arresting the 34-year-old at a nearby petrol station.
Checks revealed the motorbike was bearing a registration plate alleged to be false.
During a search of the man and his bag, police located what is alleged to be a traffickable quantity of drugs with a street value of approximately $50,000.
The Frankston man was charged with 15 offences including: trafficking and possessing drugs of dependence, resisting a police officer, driving while disqualified, possessing a fraudulent/altered licence, and affixing a false registration plate.
He was bailed to attend the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 8 April.
The motorbike was impounded for a period of 30 days at a cost of $1038.
