One step towards removing mental illness stigmas

Pakenham-based suicide prevention, domestic abuse awareness and trauma support organisation Have Hope Inc are calling on the community to hit the ground in support of those who lose their lives to suicide every day across the country.

Have Hope are hosting Stomp the Path, a nine-hour walk running from 9am to 6pm on Saturday 12 October at Akoonah Park in Berwick aiming to honour the nine lives lost to suicide daily in Australia.

Participants can register either individually or as part of a team and are encouraged to start fundraising, with all proceeds going toward Have Hope’s initiatives, which include providing educational resources, creating safe spaces, and offering direct support to individuals and families affected by mental health crises, domestic violence and other forms of trauma.

Participants can choose to walk for the full nine hours or just a portion of it.

For more information about the event or to register, visit www.stompthepath.org
