The penultimate pressure

The penultimate round of Turf 1 awaits as four teams fight it out for four spots.

Reigning premiers Hallam Kalora Park are outside the four and will need to not only claim wins in the run home, and rely on losses for Narre South.

The Hawks will take on St. Mary’s this Saturday at Carroll reserve.

Narre South has two matches this weekend, travelling to Berwick on Saturday, before hosting St. Mary’s on Sunday.

The game up its sleeve is a key factor in why the Lions are in the box seat to steal that fourth spot.

Berwick and Narre South will be sweating on the potential return of strike bowler Andrew Perrin and cricket champion Matt Chasemore, who have both hardly appeared in the second half of the year due to injury.

A win for the Bears would cement a finals berth.

Buckley Ridges, meanwhile, will welcome North Dandenong in this weekend, as it looks to sew up top spot ahead of the final round.

The Bucks will be high on the performances from last weekend, defeating finals front-runners Berwick and Springvale South.

The Bloods will host St. Mary’s today and despite being considered a premiership favourite, recent form has held the Springvale South side from cementing a finals position.

Sitting on 45 points, the Bloods also need to win both of its final two matches if results don’t fall their way.
