Crowds enjoy twilight market

The Akoonah Park Twilight Market in Berwick couldn’t have been better, with as many as 5000 people attending on Friday evening, 9 November.

There were over 30 food stalls, pony rides, an animal nursery, more than 200 gift stalls mainly from the local area, great local buskers roaming through the market and a great festival atmosphere.

“We have had incredible community feedback, including ‘this is just what we need in Berwick’, ‘Great atmosphere’, ‘awesome food choices’, ‘something for everyone’ and ‘family friendly’,” market organiser Catherine Waters said.

“Unlike our very popular Sunday market, this market had a festival atmosphere, with music, rides and spectacular food.

“We bought in ponies and an animal nursery to give us a family atmosphere and it just wouldn’t be Akoonah Park without animals.”

The next night market will be held on Friday, 7 December from 4.30pm to 9pm.

All funds generated from the night and Sunday markets go back into Akoonah Park.
