New members needed for arts and culture committee

Casey Council is calling for nominations for the City of Casey’s Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee.

New members will have knowledge of arts and culture, and may come from all arts and cultural practices, professions and interests, including those with knowledge related to festivals, arts programming and promotion.

Committee members will represent their community and provide advice and recommendations to the council to achieve its vision for a diverse, participatory and progressive arts and cultural community, while also supporting the development of council strategies, programs and budget proposals.

Responsibilities for the committee include meeting quarterly over a 12-month period on the first Monday of the relevant month from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm at Bunjil Place.

City of Casey mayor Cr Susan Serey is encouraging community members with an interest in the community’s art and cultural activities to apply, or nominate friends and family members who may be suitable.

“If you are passionate about arts and culture and want to contribute towards Casey’s cultural and arts opportunities, then this committee is for you,” she said.

Nominations open Wednesday 5 February and close Wednesday 19 February.

For more information and nomination forms visit Casey Conversations or contact City of Casey’s Customer Service on 9705 5200.
