New leaders blazing trail

STUDENTS at Eumemmerring College’s Gleneagles Campus have celebrated their new school leaders with a special school assembly.
The new school captains were presented with their school blazers and badges and SRC leaders and house captains were also presented with their badges.
The new captains addressed the school community, and their parents were also invited to attend the celebration.
School captains and leaders went through a vigorous selection process.
They were first nominated by their peers. They then wrote an application and were interviewed by a panel from the Student Representative Council, one community representative, one teacher and campus assistant principal Adele Duffy.
Peers also nominated SRC and house captains. Nominees then made a speech and an election process took place.
“It is wonderful to see so many students nominated to be part of the leadership at Gleneagles. The campus strives to instil in all students quality leadership skills that will be of life-long value,” campus principal Sue Peddlesden said.
