AFTER a long season puntuated by the Commonwealth Games, the Narre Warren Little Athletics Club held its annual general meeting and trophy presentation day the 2005/2006 track and field season last Sunday.
Club life member, Mrs Margaret Lowe, presented the Don Lowe Memorial junior club person award to Rhea Ferrier and Mrs Donna Spink (nee Lowe) presented the Hendy Family adult club person award to Mrs Lorraine Ritchie.
Athletes who represented the club at the State Championships were honoured with a special medal and in recognition of his many years of outstanding service to the club, Geoff Cox was made a life member.
Six year service plaques were awarded to Sarah Ferrante, Rhea Ferrier, Lindsey Ritchie, Danielle Di Carlo, Jackson Craig, Thomas Di Carlo and William Di Carlo.
After awards were presented, outgoing president Sue Munday chaired the meeting and Steven Fenton was elected as the new club president and a new committee was formed.

First place age group winners: girls Emily Dilorenzo, Ebony Platten, Katelyn Cox, Maddison Fenton, Ashley Albert, Rhea Ferrier, Stefanie Fenton, Ashleigh Cox and Brittany Fenton; boys James Burren, Christopher Fenton, Ethan Cornford, Joshua Lorimer, Thomas Di Carlo, Nicholas Nelson, Sean McConville and Glen de Jong.
Second place age group winners: girls Bridget Dilorenzo, Susanne Bourchier, Emily Di Carlo, Sarah Burren, Cassandra Knowles, Lindsey Ritchie, Amy Burren and Brianna Samuhel; boys James Dilorenzo, Dylan Alexander-Griffiths, Luke Coad, Kane Denmead, Jayden Denmead, Joshua Gordon and Terry Jepson.
Personal best encouragement awards: girls Tara Xeureb, Hayley Coad, Taleesha Savage, Shari Vella, Shae Gordon, Sarah Ferrante, Annalyce Dunn and Phoebe Dunn; boys Aiden Quinn, Ethan Dunn, Jackson Craig, Brandon Knowles and Jason Ritchie.
Participation awards: Gemma McSweeney, Tiarnii Savage, Melina McCallum-O’Dea, Holly Webber, Danielle Di Carlo, Jacob Lorimer, Ryan Coad, Rhys Huisman, Julian Rozario, Jeremy McSweeney, Aaron Swift, Daniel Buchanan, David Jepson, William Di Carlo and Jacob Huisman.
In other news, athletes from Narre Warren Little Athletics Club competed in the cross-country program on Saturday morning at the Dandenong centre. About 60 competitors from the under-six to open age groups completed the long-distance course.
This Saturday the club will use the short course with the first event beginning at 9.30am.
