ENDEAVOUR Hills Junior Football Club is preparing for another successful finals series, with five of its nine teams still alive in the Dandenong District Junior Football League premiership race.
The sides that will feature from the club in the first round of the finals this weekend are under-16 second division, under-14 first division, under-14 red division, under-12 first division and under-10 first division.
The latter three all finished on top of the ladder and are favoured to swell the Endeavour Hills trophy cabinet.
It comes on the back of the local club’s triple premiership year in 2006 – two of which came in first division play.
Endeavour Hills vice-president Mario Aiezza is delighted with the achievement, particularly after the club overcame a deliberately lit fire this year that caused more than $40,000 worth of damage to property and buildings at their Charles Green Reserve clubrooms.
“It is outstanding, considering the effort we put into the club and the fact we had a fire at the start of the year that set us back,” he said.
“The fact we continue to work to make it a family club as much as a successful one is a credit to everybody there.”
