FRESH food and produce will have a new home this Saturday when the Casey Farmers’ Market sets up shop in Berwick.
Market organisers are hoping that the move to the Old Cheese Factory on Homestead Road will draw more customers to the event.
Stall holders have already welcomed the move with several new traders booking spots for the first market of the year.
Fruit, vegetables, honey, wine and cheese will be sold alongside free-range lamb, beef, poultry and eggs.
Market manager Geoff Rankin said about 40 stall holders had booked and the new site, which offers picturesque gardens, was shaping up as an ideal venue.
“As it has turned out we have stall holders coming to the new venue left, right and centre,” Mr Rankin said.
He said the market was an ideal place for customers to pick up some of the freshest food available.
The first Casey Farmers’ Market of 2007 will take place on 27 January at the Old Cheese Factory, 34 Homestead Road, Berwick. The market will be open from 8am to 12.30pm. For more information please contact Geoff Rankin on 9769 4459.
