Police get in the swim at Doveton

DOVETON Pool in the Park will be the place to be this Saturday, with the Victoria Police Band, Code One set to make a splash.
The band will entertain at a multicultural family event that will also feature a dive-in movie screening of the popular animated film Hoodwinked.
The event is being organised by a newly created Youth Committee, comprising representatives from YMCA, Victoria Police, City of Casey and the Doveton and Eumemmerring Neighbourhood Renewal Project.
The committee meets monthly to discuss youth issues and innovative ways to engage young people with the community.
Cranbourne’s youth resource officer, Senior Constable Brett Owen encouraged young people to come and enjoy the entertainment.
“Code One will be performing a set of great music for people of all ages and there will also be multicultural food and dance displays,” Sen Const Owen said.
“This is shaping up to be a great night and it will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the diversity in our community while further strengthening ties with local youth,” he said.
Police from Endeavour Hills will be attending the event, as will Casey’s youth resource officers.
Code One will take to the stage at 7pm and the dive-in movie will screen at 9pm.
Gates open at 6pm and admission is $5 for adults and $15 for families.
The Doveton Pool in the Park YMCA is at the corner of Tristania Street and Kidds Road, Doveton.
