DESPITE the torrential rain, Cranbourne Secondary College students got into the spirit of things at their athletics day last Friday.
The school event had already been cancelled twice because of the weather and this time it was going ahead – rain, hail or shine.
The students competed in their school houses and while a couple of events had to be cancelled, most students were still happy to run in the rain.
The school’s sports coordinator Sue Burt said they had a good turnout of kids at the carnival.
“They all had a good time and were very enthusiastic, especially with the weather,” Ms Burt said.
A number of students also broke school records.
Jordan Faamausili broke the under 14 boys 100 metre record, Tara Cecil broke the under 13 girls high jump record, and Caitlin Adamson broke the under 13 girls triple jump record with a massive jump of 9.09 metres.
