AN ARMOURED security van toppled over in Berwick on Tuesday, but its loot remained inside.
Narre Warren Police said the incident occurred about 3.30pm at the intersection of Beaconsfield-Emerald Road and the Princes Highway.
“The driver slowed to brake at the lights and the rear wheels locked up, (the van) swerved, hit a median strip and then toppled over,” a police spokesperson said.
Three people were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident, but no-one was injured. A heavy haulage truck was used to right the vehicle, which received only minor damage. The incident happened near Haileybury College in Berwick, but police said the crash did not attract many onlookers.
Five police members from Narre Warren attended the scene, as did an ambulance and two crews from the Berwick Country Fire Authority.
Berwick brigade captain Alan Boyd said officers had checked there were no oil or gas leaks before the vehicle was overturned.
No charges are expected to be laid.
