OLIVIA and Ruby Lamb certainly like their green eggs and ham.
The Berwick sisters are big fans of renowned children’s author Dr Seuss and are using their imagination to bring his classic stories to life.
The talented pair, aged nine and seven respectively, are playing the role of the Who children in Players Theatre Company’s latest musical production Seussical.
The show opened last Friday night and will run until Saturday at Forest Hill College’s Watson Theatre.
Mother Jacki Lamb said her daughters had been rehearsing three times a week and loved performing on stage.
Ruby takes dance lessons at Suzie Ryrie School of Dance and Olivia is having private music lessons.
Ms Lamb said her musically minded daughters were big Dr Seuss fans and she and husband Graham were very proud of their achievements.
The sisters have also appeared in amateur productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
“We are very proud. They love it and enjoy it so we encourage it,” Ms Lamb said.
A talented cast of 40 aged from six to 40 will sing and dance their way through an imaginative musical based on the works of the beloved children’s author Theodore Geisel, known to the world as Dr Seuss.
Seussical features some of Seuss’s best known characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Grinch, Gertrude McFuzz and, of course, The Cat in the Hat.
Then there are all the fantastic places –The Jungle of Nool, McElligott’s Pool, the inhabitants of Who and the Circus McGurkus.
Seussical, directed by Matt Higgs with musical direction by Tony Toppi, will let the whole family’s imagination run wild, if only for a couple of hours.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $18 for children under 15 and a family ticket is $65. Groups of ten or more and concession card holders are $22 per ticket. Bookings can be made on 9539 1532.
