Dads in their numbers

FOOTBALL legend Tom Hafey was the special guest at a Father’s Day Breakfast Meeting held at Oatlands Primary School.
More than 300 dads walked their children to their classrooms and then gathered in the hall to listen to Hafey’s message.
Following the inspiring presentation, the dads returned to the classroom to help their children build models of cars, planes, trucks and towers as well as help in complete painting and drawings.
Teacher and breakfast organiser John Armao said it was a great event.
“It was just fantastic to see so many dads bringing their children to school and joining in the morning with Tom Hafey,” Mr Amao said.
“I was expecting 30 to 40 dads to join us at school. Tom’s involvement on the morning has certainly helped to make it a huge success,” he said.
Mr Armao said the morning was so successful that he was already planning ahead for the 2009 Father’s Day Breakfast Meeting.
