Guests embarrassed

COUNCILLOR Rob Wilson is under fire for leaving an entire table of guests in the lurch at the Casey mayoral dinner. In an obvious attempt to take a page out of Casey mayor Janet Halsall’s book of wisdom, Cr Wilson skipped the dinner to attend a Year 11 function at Hillcrest Christian College, the school where he teaches.
In an email seen by News Views, another Casey councillor said he was shocked at Cr Wilson’s decision not to turn up, and that the table of guests he invited were left embarrassed by the no show.

FOUR Oaks Ward councillor Paul Richardson also has questions to answer after he was said to have noisily interrupted performances by two young entertainers at the same function. According to another councillor, Cr Richardson and his guests ‘chatted at an audible level’ during the performances and distracted the performers. Calls for a Cr Richardson apology have fallen on deaf ears, but one of the entertainers, who lives in Cr Richardson’s ward, may have the last laugh on polling day.

KUNG Fu Panda will feature on an outdoor cinema in the car park of the Cranbourne Racecourse on the evening of Saturday 4 October. The event has been organised by the Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce and for a gold coin donation, families can kick back with a picnic and a blanket and watch the all-ages movie starring the voices of Jack Black and Angelina Jolie. The event will wrap up a big day for Cranbourne, with the ever-popular GP Wave Off happening a few hours earlier. Food and drink is available to purchase on the night, and the outdoor cinema is an alcohol-free event.

FORMER Casey councillor Michael Shepherdson will call for an inquiry into the operations of the Lyndhurst toxic tip if elected to council in November. And he’ll also campaign for a post office to open at the Lynbrook Shopping Centre. The problem is we’re not supposed to know that as yet. In one erroneous click of the mouse, Mr Shepherdson mistakenly emailed a press release outlining his grand plans for election to the wrong person. That wrong person was a News Views spy. Oops!
