Martina McCarthy has been in discussions with Minogue’s manager and says the star has shown interest in checking out the designer’s latest creations when she returns to Australia in December.
Ms McCarthy, who specialises in high-end, after-five fashion, showcases her Martina Lucinda label in Cherry Closet in Berwick, Rosemin on Chapel Street, and Deb’s of Sorrento in Sorrento.
A model since she was 16 years old, Ms McCarthy says she uses top designer fabrics such as Versace and Cavalli in her creations.
“The fabrics are extremely important. Women must feel good to look good,” she said.
Her dresses sold from $200 and had “a unique and edgy look”.
“People will either love them or hate them,” she said.
The 29-year-old said she drew recent inspiration from the spring racing carnival.
“I’m always drawing things and I found that some of the hottest fascinator trends sparked inspiration for my designs,” she said.
The mother of two said she would love to dress celebrity Victoria Beckham.
“I admire the way she dresses,” she said.
