MARAMBA Primary School scored first place in the Greenhouse Games School Challenge for achieving the greatest reduction in greenhouse gas emissions over the competition period.
The students at the Narre Warren school took part in the eight-week challenge where families from the school competed against each other and other schools to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by saving energy and water and reducing household waste.
Each week the students had to pledge online the actions they planned to do to make their home environment more sustainable.
The Victorian Minister for the Environment, Gavin Jennings ,presented the school with the gold plaque and $2000 in prize money at an assembly on Tuesday 1 December.
