Mayor silent on state seat

CASEY mayor Lorraine Wreford has refused to confirm or deny rumours she is seeking Liberal pre-selection for the state seat of Mordialloc in the 2010 state election.
A letter sent to the News last week, by someone calling themselves a “concerned resident of Casey”, claimed Cr Wreford had lodged her application with the Liberal Party on Friday 11 December.
Contacted by the News this week, Cr Wreford persistently refused to answer any questions relating to the claims.
Cr Wreford was elected as the mayor of the City of Casey on Monday 30 November.
