STUDENTS at Heritage College celebrated their last days of school for the year with a difference.
Instead of the usual bowling or swimming, the students in years seven to nine focused on giving time and service to others in the community.
The true spirit of Christmas was seen as many of the students in the school choir visited Berwick Brae Retirement Village and took part in Christmas activities, sang carols, handed out gingerbread cookies and read Christmas stories.
Some of the students enjoyed the great outdoors by tidying the Heritage Hill wetlands area across the road from the Narre Warren South school, armed with bags and gloves to help make a difference by collecting rubbish.
Many students also teamed up with their year five buddy and door knocked in the area to collect money for Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
The students collected $158.40 from the local community.
Organiser Janette Bower said she was pleased with the positive attitudes of the students and their unselfish contributions to the community at this time of the year.
Year ends on high note
