MOSSGIEL Park Primary School welcomed the members of its new Junior School Council with open arms last month.
The new student leaders of the Endeavour Hills school were officially recognised at a special assembly attended by Casey councillor Rosalie Crestani.
Members of the new student council have already held meetings with the school’s teachers to work out ways to ensure the school is an inclusive place for all students.
Principal Jenny Scott said she couldn’t wait to work with the student leaders in the year ahead.
“It is very exciting to see thoughtful young people learning to problem solve and to think beyond their own needs and wishes,” she said.
“I look forward to seeing our Junior School Council representatives work together throughout 2014 to give voice to the students of Mossgiel Park.”
Ms Scott also commended those parents who had joined the school council.
“What a wonderful response to our annual request for parent support for the Mossgiel Park Primary School council,” she said.
“It is very pleasing to have parents happy to commit to roles on our school council – thank you!”
