ANOTHER group of young Casey leaders was installed at a special school ceremony earlier this month.
Hillsmeade Primary School in Narre Warren South announced its new captains at an assembly which was attended by MP Judith Graley who presented the proud group with their badges.
The young leaders were also required to take the Hillsmeade Primary School Leadership Pledge.
The new leadership team is comprised of school captains, house captains, arts captains, sport and environment captains and junior school council representatives.
“It is always a great honour to be in a leadership position, whether it is at school, in the workplace or even in Parliament,” Ms Graley said.
“These terrific young people have been selected by their peers for the outstanding leadership qualities that they have shown and I congratulate them.
“Well done to Maddison Howard and Heath Cameron on becoming school captains and to all the new school leaders for taking on these important leadership roles.
“I have no doubt that each and every one of these young boys and girls will excel as leaders at school and in our local community.”
It comes after James Cook Primary School in Endeavour Hills and Fountain Gate Primary School all held leadership assemblies for their students earlier this year, preparing them for what is expected to be a busy but rewarding 2014.
James Cook Primary School students were awarded their badges by the grand illusionist Consentino, who was enlisted to speak to the students by principal Kathy Sharp.
School captains, house captains, music captains, members of the student representative council and a range of other roles were recognised at the James Cook assembly.
Across the way, Fountain Gate Primary School assistant principal Michelle Granland applauded the new leaders of her school.
“They write their own speeches and present them to all of the students in their level, who then vote to elect their leaders,” she said.
