Miners gear up for bruising encounter

THE Berwick Miners will look to bounce back from their recent loss to the Croydon Rangers when they travel to Bendigo this week to take on the Dragons.
The Gridiron Victoria Division 1 side currently sits fourth in the Conference A standings with a 4-7 record from their 11 games so far. The Dragons currently sit just one spot above them with five wins.
The Dragons will come out breathing fire this Saturday night – they’ll be looking to win to secure their play-off berth.
Berwick’s most recent clash was a hard-fought loss to the Croydon Rangers on 19 July.
Though the Miners were disappointed by the loss, a spectacular touchdown catch from Brad Ferguson put a lasting smile on their faces.
The boys from Endeavour Hills also showed a touch of class in creating a guard of honour for Gridiron Victoria’s games record holder, Tom Kinloch, who notched up his 300-game milestone in the clash.
The Miners will take on the Bendigo Dragons this Saturday night from 7pm at the Tom Flood Sports Centre in Bendigo. Entry is free.
