Short on hair, big on dollars

ENDEAVOUR Hills childcare worker Christine Heaney shed her long locks and raised more than $2000 for Cancer Victoria.
“After registering I had online donations from Scotland, and decided to have a raffle on the night to raise money,” she said.
“I visited all the local traders in Berwick who were so kind, donating vouchers and gifts for the raffle.
“A thankyou to all involved in fund-raising, meaning everyone that bought raffle tickets and made donations.”
Ms Heaney, her husband Derek and children Kevin and Keri moved to Australia from Scotland three years ago.
“I decided to shave my hair for Cancer Victoria after a workmate brought the subject up,” she said.
“I work for First Early Learning in Endeavour Hills.
“My husband is a coach for Berwick City Soccer Club and my son and daughters both play.
“Berwick City agreed to have my fund-raiser in the club, with my daughter Keri shaving my hair on the night.”
Any girls looking to play soccer they can contact Nicky at Berwick City Soccer Club on 0438 521 503.
