THE Hampton Park Youth Girls footy team would benefit from a $10 million promise from the State Opposition to upgrade female club rooms across Victoria, according to a local MP.
Labor made the promise last Monday 8 September, for which contributions of up to $100,000 will be made to councils and sporting organisations on a matched-funding basis, via a bidding process, to upgrade the rooms.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley said the funding would be used to update the facilities at Casey sport clubs like the Hampton Park Youth Girls footy team, and the Berwick Springs Netball Club.
“Our local netball clubs are crying out for assistance in growing the game and finding adequate facilities to use each week,” she said.
“This fund will ensure these clubs are no longer held back by poor, inadequate or even non-existent facilities.
“It’s time we made providing our sporting clubs with equal facilities a priority.”
