Towed away

MORE than 70 trailers have been stolen throughout Casey, Cardinia and Dandenong in the space of three months.
Police have confirmed that 72 trailers were stolen from the Casey, Cardinia and Dandenong police areas between 1 July and 28 September.
Southern Metro region Senior Sergeant Terry Rowlands said the majority of the trailers were unsecured at the time they were taken.
“The offenders are simply towing them away – it’s an opportunistic crime that can be easily prevented.
“We’re urging the community to be aware and secure their property including cars, bicycles, boats and trailers.
“If possible, use chains and tow hitch locking devices to secure them to a post or tree and park in well-lit areas.
“Finally, report suspicious activity immediately by calling 000.”
