Prized cattle show

FOR sheer fun and excitement, there’s nothing like a great value day out at the Berwick Cattle Show, with around 80 beef and dairy cattle on display and cattle handlers vying for a prestigious blue ribbon and over $6000 in prizes.
The Beef and Dairy Cattle competitions at Berwick will include many European and British breeds and will take place from 9am on Saturday 21 February.
With many sponsors supporting the cattle events, new sponsor Pakenham Produce and Saddlery has come on board to sponsor the 2015 Berwick Beef Junior Youth Show, which is held on Friday evening.
Pakenham Produce and Saddlery marketing manager Jodie Stroub along with animal health manager Sarah Ramage are delighted to offer prize vouchers and showbags for the junior participants.
For the fifth year running, Cattle chairman Peter Wenn says it is an honour to see local and interstate breeders showcase their animals at one of Victoria’s most admired shows. They travel distances and this is a true testament to the cattle committee that they hold such a safe and successful show.
Mr Wenn says the prizes, trophies and prize money on offer are of a high standard but, to many, it’s about getting together with fellow exhibitors for a social outing.
Cattle secretary Vanessa Wenn, who said the success of the Berwick Cattle Show was due to the outstanding list of sponsors and volunteers, thanked them sincerely for their interest in the cattle show as well as the generous donations each year.
The Berwick Show Cattle Committee works very hard to create an enjoyable show, and Mr Wenn says he looks forward to welcoming people to the show.
