Members of the Narre Warren Business Group (NWBG) gathered for their annual general meeting on Wednesday 4 July.
Held at Switch Lifestyle located at Fountain Gate, the evening included guest speakers sharing their insights on current business issues and attendees also having the opportunity to network with local business owners as well as electing its new committee members.
Steve Osborne returned as president, joint vice presidents are Dale Munckton and Tara Angelone, Richard Edwards returned as treasurer, Tim Allan returned as secretary and Michael Parker and Rob Wilson were appointed as general committee members.
The group, which provides a voice for local business, also discussed car parking within the City of Casey and looks forward to discussing adequate parking strategies with the Casey Council.
Robert Errey from Federation University spoke at the recent meeting about the Federation Business School’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) which is available at the Berwick campus from August.
According to the group’s President Steve Osborne, the NWBG will put a focus on growing their membership over the next 12 months. The group will also continue to run monthly events on the first Wednesday of the month with a range of exciting speakers.
Mr Munckton said Mr Errey told attendees they were “never too old” to start an MBA. The university will be holding a detailed information evening on Tuesday 17 July from 5.30pm – 7.30pm at Atura, Dandenong.
Next month’s event is ‘How to build a Million and Dollar Property Portfolio’ with guest speaker Frank Valentic as seen on reality television series ‘The Block’.
Events for this year include a speed networking night, search engine optimisation presentation and an end of year celebration dinner.
