Police hope an image of a man believed to be linked to an aggravated burglary in Narre Warren will be identified.

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the Wednesday 18 July incident.

They believe two intruders, one holding a knife, entered a Fleetwood Drive address by unknown means about 10.45pm.

Police say a dog owned by the resident bit one of the men, causing him to flee without anything being stolen.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist their enquiries.

The man is described as being in his early twenties, 172cm with a stocky build. He was also said to be wearing a black hoodie, black trackies and khaki coloured work boots.

The second man was described as being of African appearance, 187cm, thin build with short dark hair and a diamond earring.

Police urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au and quote the incident number 180244906.
