City of Casey Deputy Mayor Cr Amanda Stapledon was awarded the Paul Harris Fellow Award by the Rotary Club of Berwick on Wednesday, 29 August.

The award is named after the founder of Rotary, Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer who started Rotary International with three business associates in 1905.

“At no time did I imagine I would be the recipient of such a prestigious award but am truly overwhelmed and honoured,” she said.

“Two special people were invited as special guests; Janet Halsall and Roger Lord have been huge influences in my life and I was thrilled that they were present.”

St John of God were presented a cheque for $10,000 and we saw presentations of the Student Program that studies Federal Politics, in Canberra and the Club’s amazing work over in Balibo, East Timor.
