Fresh faces, fun and new friendships are all in-store over the next few days for Orientation Week (O Week) at Federation University’s Berwick campus.
The number of international students studying at FedUni has more than doubled in 2019, compared to the previous year.
Almost 900 international students from as far afield as Austria, Cambodia, France, Kuwait, Norway and Saudi Arabia will study across all FedUni campuses this year.
The Berwick campus has 256 international students enrolled so far.
Living on campus is also proving popular, with a large number of domestic and international students moving into FedUni residences this week. This includes up to 100 students in Berwick.
O Week got underway on Monday 25 February with social, career, finance and mentoring events and support for students.
“Starting university is exciting for students but also a little nerve-wracking – that’s why we make sure they have the support and advice they need as they settle into campus life,” FedUni vice chancellor and president professor Helen Bartlett said.
“Our international students bring different cultures and insights from around the world to our communities and we’re delighted to see such an increase in enrolments this year.
“O Week is a great time for students to find their feet and meet new people, many who will become life-long friends.”
