Have your say on Homestead Cafe

The Old Cheese Factory Berwick.

There is one week left to provide feedback on uses for the Old Cheese Factory’s Homestead Cafe, which was closed in the wake of Covid.

Following the closure of the Homestead Cafe at the Old Cheese Factory in 2020, the City of Casey is calling for feedback on how best to use the space.

The Homestead Cafe was closed down after the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in 2020, as the council decided it was not financially viable to continue running the venue.

The council is now consulting with the community to ensure the space reflects the community’s needs.

No options have been ruled out yet, so the possibility of a replacement cafe remains open.

Following the engagement process, Casey Council will make a decision, considering what best suits the space while retaining its historical value.

Residents can have their say online via Casey Conversations, as well as in person, on-site at the Old Cheese Factory, when staff attend local community events to chat with users and allow them to see inside the space.

The consultation will close on Monday 22 March.
