Premier tests positive

The Victorian Premier has tested positive for Covid-19.

Premier Daniel Andrews has tested positive to Covid-19 and will isolate for seven days.

After developing “mild symptoms” including a sore throat and mild temperature in the morning of Monday 28 March, the premier did a rapid antigen test (RAT) which returned a positive result.

“My symptoms are mild and we’re well stocked on panadol – but I’ll definitely be resting up so Deputy Premier James Merlino will be acting Premier until Monday 4 April,” the Premier posted to his Facebook page.

Mr Andrews’ wife, Cath, and children, Noah, Grace and Joseph, all tested negative, however as close contacts, all will isolate for seven days.
