Wilson Botanic Park will be undergoing a prehistoric transformation with the Dino Safari’s arrival on 28 June, lasting until 7 July.

Park goers and visitors will journey back in time to the wonders of the Mesozoic era, complete with roving dinosaurs, animatronic displays and fossil-digging sandpits.

The City of Casey’s chair of administrator’s Noelene Duff PSM said that “the park is renowned for its family-friendly events, and Dino Safari promises to be one of the most poplar yet”.

There will be daily sessions between 9:30am to 4:00pm, with two special events; Twilight Dino Walk on June 29 and Sunset Cinema on 6 July.

The twilight walk will have visitors wade through ancient landscapes, dino-themed crafts, live music, interactive dinosaur encounters and a floor-is-lava challenge.

On the other hand, the Sunset Cinema is a screening of Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, accompanied by lawn games and both events having food trucks with a wide range of choices.

“Wilson Botanic Park is a premier destination for nature enthusiasts, offering a running blend of botanical beauty and immersive experiences for visitors of all ages,” Ms Duff said.

Tickets are priced at $12.50 per person, with children under 12 months admitted free of charge, while family ticket option – two adults and two children – is available for $45.

The Sunset Cinema is priced at $13.50 per person and $50 for the family tickets.

The safari itself is part of Casey’s wider Winter Arts Festival, which will also feature a range of arts, cultural and entertainment experiences throughout the months of June and July.
