An unbeaten half-century from Pakenham Upper Toomuc’s Nick Kyval has steered the Yabbies to their second win of the summer.

In reply to Cranbourne Meadows’ 10/134, Kyval blasted 73 from number three as Pakenham Upper Toomuc chased down the total inside 28 overs.

It was a typical Rebels match, with the home side batting less than 30 overs for its first innings total before doing the same with the ball.

Kyval delivered with the ball too, collecting 3/38 from him eight overs.

The Yabbies now sit two wins clear of last-placed Gembrook.

Devon Meadows, meanwhile, resumed its post as the benchmark of one-day cricket by thrashing Emerald.

By batting just 9.5 overs last week, the match between the Panthers and Bombers was recalibrated to a one-day match at the weekend.

The Panthers set a lofty total of 6/217, with Nathan Worsteling crunching an unbeaten-41-ball 50.

Despite Michael Hoban’s (75) best efforts at the top of Emerald’s order, the Bombers fell 45 runs short (7/172) in reply.

Lucas Carroll – the bowler to dismiss the dangerous Hoban – bowled well, snaring 2/38 from his eight overs.

The win keeps the Panthers at the top of the District ladder due to their thumping percentage.

On equal points with the Panthers is Upper Beaconsfield, which also enjoyed a convincing victory.

After posting 261 for victory last Saturday, the Maroons jagged regular wickets to restrict NNG/Maryknoll to 10/154.

The Marygoons lost 2/0 at one stage and 3/1 at another, leaving accomplishing the large chase a distant fantasy.

Five of the six Maroons bowlers used sent a batter back to the pavilion, while it was the McDonald’s who did the brunt of the damage.

Chad grabbed 2/29 off 13 while Andrew gathered 3/46 off 16.

Lang Lang has left Gembrook searching for its first win after defeating the Brookers inside 93 overs of play.

The Brookers were dismissed for 78, with Oshadha Ariyadasa claiming 5/16 from nine overs.

The five-for is a great reward for Ariyadasa who is yet to go wicket-less this summer.

The Swamp Tigers faced few challenges in pursuit of the low total, reeling in the score in the 48th over.

Rajind Dassanayake was the pick of the batters with 56 from 81 deliveries.
