It’s not rare for game of the season to be involving Narre Warren.

But it is rare for the opposition to be Woori Yallock.

Such is the nature of this AFL Outer East competition, the game of the round – and season – isn’t Narre v Berwick, or Cranbourne, or Beaconsfield, or even Doveton – it’s the Maggies hosting Woori Yallock.

Before last weekend it was the two undefeated sides of the Premier competition.

This week the two sides will meet at the Magpie nest for a massive clash that will realistically determine how close the rest of the competition are to the benchmark that is Narre Warren.

While it’s a massive game, Maggies coach Shane Dwyer was laconic about the task at hand, mainly pleased his side doesn’t have another week off.

“After the game I said it was two undefeated sides, but had a look at the results and they got rolled, which was a bit of a shock,” he said.

“I know they will get the big fella (Monkhorst), I think his VFL side has a bye this week.

“We played against him for a couple of years, they will be up and about, it’ll be good to be back at home and hopefully we have got a couple to come back in.

“It’ll be good to play two weeks in a row to be honest.”

It will be a historic day for the Pies, who will also have a stream of its A Grade netball for the first time.
