P-plate hoons caught out

TWO probationary drivers have had their vehicles impounded after allegedly driving erratically in wet conditions in Berwick this month.
A Major Collision Investigation Unit police officer saw two cars attempt to accelerate quickly and lose traction as lights turned green at the corner of High Street and Gloucester Avenue, about 9.30pm on 11 May.
The vehicles maintained loss of traction and fish-tailed for about 80 metres, police say.
The cars were driven at high speeds for about one kilometre before being intercepted by the officer.
A 19-year-old Pakenham man and a 19-year-old Gembrook man have been charged with dangerous driving and failing to have proper control of a vehicle.
They were served a notice to surrender their vehicles to the Victoria Police impound yard for one month and pay $405 storage costs for each car.
They are summonsed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court.
